It is known that phosphorus is the most important constituent in a flame retardant formulation which by incorporating the nitrogen on these compounds could improve the efficiency of the flame retardant. Decomposing in presence of heat and releasing phosphoric acid, is the characteristic of this group. Phosphoric acid is converted flammable material surface to char which gives several desirable benefits, the char is difficult to ignite, it acts as a barrier between polymer and flame, it restricts oxygen access, and it reduces the rate of heat generation. Also as a result of existing nitrogen in these materials, the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere is reduced, consequently flame is dead.
